Atletico Madrid – Real Betis

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has urged his team to secure victory over Real Betis on Saturday afternoon to put pressure on Primera Division leaders and Champions League opponents Barcelona.
Given his passionate, driven personality, there is every possibility that Diego Simeone will have spent the international break wondering just how Atletico Madrid managed to lose to relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon two weeks ago.
Atletico were winning 1-0 with 11 minutes to go, only to collapse and slip nine points behind Barcelona in a title race they were never likely to win anyway.
The loss snapped Atletico Madrid's four-game winning streak and also gave the team its first loss in
eight outings. It also made them fail to stay at par with top squad Barcelona and third-running Real
Madrid, who had a draw and a win in their matchday 30 encounters.
Los Blancos is now just one point behind Atleti in the league table.
