FC Bayern München can take another huge step towards a record fourth successive Bundesliga title with victory over top-four contenders FC Schalke 04 on Saturday (kick-off 18:30CEST/16:30GMT).
Bayern are among the last four in the Champions League and DFB-Pokal. But now they'll have to work towards wrapping up the Bundesliga as the Schalke match approaches.
They play host to Schalke, the side who gave them a hand last weekend by taking two points off their only title challengers Borussia Dortmund, on Saturday knowing a win could send them 10 points clear - at least temporarily.
Schalke have experienced their share of struggles as of late, with a 3-0 loss to Ingolstadt perhaps being the nadir of their season. It left the Gelsenkirchen club reeling, with hopes of a return to the Champions League next season highly in doubt.
Schalke on the other hand are 7th in the league with 45 points and a poor run of results have taken them out from the race for a Champions spot next season. They must win this to keep the slightest chances alive, but haven’t done well against Bayern in the past few seasons.
